Winter Storm Safety

Ally HaneyNews

A major winter storm is impacting our area this weekend. Roads will be icy and hazardous, so please stay off the roads! If travel is absolutely necessary, drive slowly and make sure your vehicle and supplies are prepared for winter conditions.

Residents should be ready for possible power outages. If your power goes out, report it directly to your electric service provider. Keep heaters, candles, and other heat sources away from flammable materials to prevent fires.

Extreme Cold Warning: Temperatures are expected to drop significantly over the next few days. Make sure your home is prepared and stay warm.

Take care of pets by bringing them indoors, and check on neighbors, especially those who are elderly or have limited mobility, to ensure everyone has heat and supplies.

Stay tuned to local media outlets for updates and safety advisories.

Call 911 ONLY for fire, medical, or life-threatening emergencies. For non-emergency incidents, contact dispatch at (540) 261-6174. Please do not call this number for general information or weather updates.

Stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another!
