F.W. Kling Elementary School will be registering students for Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year Friday, April 23rd from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. After your child is registered you will receive an appointment to come back for screening. If you would prefer to pick up a registration packet and return it us you may do so at any time, please call us at 261-6717 and we will make arrangements for you.
All children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2021 should register for kindergarten. Children turning 5 between October 1, and December 31 may be eligible for our Junior Kindergarten. All children turning 5 after September 30, 2021 are eligible for our preschool program.
Registration packets will be available at Kling Elementary School during the registration time. You will need to bring the following with you:
- Original birth certificate (we will not accept copies). If you do not have your child’s birth certificate you can obtain one at DMV in Lexington or through your local Health Department.
- Updated immunization record. You will need to schedule a physical for your child to be turned in to the school office before school starts. Physicals must be dated after September, 2020. Make your appointment with a physician now as they get booked quickly.
- Proof of residence (deed, lease, or utility bill).
- We do accept out of district applications for a 25.00 application fee.
** No child will be admitted to school on the first day without the immunization records, physical, and birth certificate.
Our school nurse will be available to review immunizations and answer health/medication questions for you. If your child has any special needs, be prepared to discuss them with her at this time. It is important that the school is aware of any medications your child takes, or any medical conditions your child may have.
