Buena Vista School Board Restarts Search for Superintendent

Buena Vista, VA – The Buena Vista City School Board today announced it will restart its search for a new Superintendent of Schools. The School Board began its search in January 2020 after accepting Dr. John Keeler’s letter of retirement but due to the challenges with COVID-19, the Board decided to postpone the remainder of the search and ask Dr. Keeler to adjust his retirement date until June 30, 2021.

“We look forward to restarting the search to find the next Superintendent of Buena Vista Public Schools,” said School Board Chair Teresa Ellison.

Applicants can begin to apply for the Superintendent Search on Thursday, January 14 and applications will be accepted through February 12, 2021. The application link will be available on the website of the Virginia School Boards Association.

The Virginia School Boards Association will continue to work with the school board through the Superintendent Search process.
