Buena Vista, VA (April 2023) – The City of Buena Vista and Glen Maury Park regret to announce a delayed opening of the lower campground due to supply chain disruptions that continue to impact business operations across the globe. The remainder of the park will be open as usual, with the lower campground anticipated to open in early July.

During the off-season, Glen Maury Park began necessary improvements to water and electric systems to ensure the campground is safe and inviting for guests going into the 2023 season. Unfortunately, supply chain disruptions have impacted the on-time delivery of necessary materials to complete the electrical upgrades. Staff continues to work diligently to receive the materials as quickly as possible, but delays are also impacting materials needed by electrical providers outside of staff control.

We understand how important it is to get the lower campground up and running for the summer season and that guests are eagerly awaiting the upcoming season. Despite the setback, there is still plenty to enjoy at Glen Maury Park this summer, including the 53-site upper campground, swimming pool, hiking and biking trails, sports facilities, and picnic shelters. Additionally, an all-new playground will be open for the start of the season.

All events are expected to continue as scheduled. Further announcements will be made to share minor adjustments for events that will be affected. Additionally, an all-new playground will be open for the start of the season.

It is important to remember that delays and setbacks can happen in any project, especially when it comes to large-scale upgrades like the ones at Glen Maury Park. Your patience and understanding are appreciated during this time. Glen Maury Park looks forward to welcoming guests soon to enjoy all of the exciting upgrades.
