Buena Vista, VA (August 2024) – The City of Buena Vista is excited to announce its renewed partnership with the local timber framers’ group for the construction of a new stage cover as part of the Town Square project. This much-anticipated build will take place from October 3rd through October 6th, 2024, and promises to add a stunning and functional element to our vibrant downtown area.

The stage cover will be constructed at the heart of the Town Square, continuing the momentum of creating a lively and inviting community space. The design of the stage cover will match the pavilion that was completed as part of the timber framers Spring project, incorporating traditional craftsmanship that pays homage to the region’s rich history and natural beauty. This collaboration not only underscores the city’s commitment to fostering local talent but also highlights the collective effort of the community in building a space where everyone can gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with our local timber framers once again for this important component of the Town Square project,” said Kristina Ramsey, Director of Economic Development. “Their craftsmanship and dedication will help us bring another exciting element to our downtown area, further enriching our community space.”

The City of Buena Vista is calling on community members and organizations to support the project through various fundraisers. In addition, we are seeking donations of meals and snacks to keep our dedicated volunteers energized throughout the build. This is a unique chance for the community to come together and contribute to a project that will benefit Buena Vista for years to come.
