Buena Vista, VA (March 2024) – The sound of construction and the sight of bustling activity mark the beginning of an exciting chapter in Buena Vista as construction officially kicks off for the long-awaited “Town Square” Project. With the highly anticipated pavilion build project scheduled for April 5-9, the community is rallying together to breathe new life into this cherished space.

The Mullen family and local timber frame group bring over a hundred seasoned artisans together each year, in collaboration with the local community, to construct a beautiful timber frame structure somewhere in the Rockbridge Area to promote community engagement and create a lasting impact. The start of this project marks a significant milestone in the Buena Vista community’s efforts to foster a sense of unity and enhance public spaces.

“We are thrilled that construction for the Town Square Project is underway,” said Mayor Tyson Cooper. “This project exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and community pride that defines Buena Vista and is a physical reminder of what we can achieve when we work together toward a common purpose.”

While construction is underway, there are still numerous opportunities for community members to get involved and support the project. Whether it’s donating snacks to fuel our hardworking volunteers, contributing a meal, or providing financial support, every contribution makes a difference. Additionally, volunteers are always welcome to lend a hand during the build weekend and beyond!
